Chiropractic care helps correct problems
that occur within the joints of the body, especially within the spine.
Chiropractic physicians use their hands to
apply short, quick, highly controlled thrusts to joints which are not
moving properly. This "adjustment" helps restore the spine's normal
mobility or movement. This in turn releases pressure from the joints
and surrounding nerves. Chiropractic adjustments help reduce or
eliminate pain, and correct its underlying cause.
Is a Chiropractor a "REAL DOCTOR" ?
A chiropractor, or chiropractic physician earns the degree of Doctor of
Chiropractic (D.C.) after successfully completing a four year
undergraduate college program and a mandatory four year program in
chiropractic studies at an accredited college. A chiropractor must also
pass national and state board certification examinations in order to
receive a license to practice.
Is Chiropractic Safe?
Research shows chiropractic care to be extremely safe. It's not for
everyone. People with fractures or bone diseases, or those who have a
loss of bowel or bladder control, probably would not benefit from
chiropractic care. But numerous reports show that spinal manipulation
administered by a chiropractic physician can provide great benefits to
those suffering from sprains and strains, disc problems, "pinched"
nerves, and a variety of symptoms associated with muscular and skeletal
conditions.
